Meet Kat & Drake, one of those storybook couples that experiences a meet-cute their sophomore year of high school and never looks back.
Throughout our entire evening together, Kat & Drake were an absolute joy to be around. That’s honestly the best way to describe it. My goal with them, as with all of my engagement sessions, was to capture the true personality and particular brand of Kat & Drake’s love in their images. Whether a couple is energetic and bubbly, more subdued and intimate, or anywhere in between, no two love stories are alike. I try to tell each story as faithfully as possible through my images.
Having spent a gorgeous afternoon with Kat & Drake, I can tell you that they are relaxed, easy-going, genuinely happy people. They’re polite enough to try anything my crazy brain stirs up, even when it doesn’t work out. You can just tell from their little smiles and genuine closeness that their mutual love and respect runs deep. And it’s only going to grow deeper in the decades to come!
These two could not have had a better day for their engagement photos! After what felt like weeks of chilly, rainy weather here in Kansas City (which now I kind of miss), the clouds parted to create a beautifully cool sunny afternoon for our adventures.
We started in Loose Park, exploring the still-vibrant foliage that this park is so famous for. Next we moved to the National WWI Museum & Memorial to take in those famous Kansas City cityscapes. Kat encouraged me to bring out the Memorial’s more unique backdrops - the kind you don’t see in every image photographed there - and I was more than willing to rise to the challenge! I love finding new and unique ways to use familiar spaces.
Below are some of my favorite images from our time together. Tell me your favorites in the comments!
Congratulations, you love birds! I cannot wait until your wedding next year!!
