Last month, I participated in a prisms & orbs workshop! I've only attended a couple of photography workshops in the past, and this one was completely different than the others because it was so purely experimental. Everyone attending was trying out new techniques and instruments. Some of us (myself included) were playing with these gadgets for the very first time!
I've never used prisms or orbs before in my photography, and the overall concept if pretty new to me. Prisms and orbs are used to create interesting light effects and composition in photos. (learn more here)
In the photo below I created a reflection of the pillars to add extra dimension and create additional leading lines. Thank you to the beautiful Natasha from Natasha McGuire Photography for standing in as my model!
I love this shot that Natasha got of me :)
Once we'd had enough fun with the triangular prisms, the orbs came out to play!
Before the sun completely set, I turned my lens to the landscape. I had a lot of fun making these abstract landscapes.
This workshop definitely pulled me out of my comfort zone, but in the best way. I hope I get to participate in more in the future!
