Meet Cissy & Johnny!
These two have been known each other since high school but it wasn’t until they both moved to Kansas City from St. Louis that their romance rekindled.
Being from St. Louis, you better believe that these two are Blues fans! Their engagement session actually fell on the night of a big play-offs game, but you’d never know it from their photos. These two stayed present throughout our entire session, enjoying every moment, embrace, and kiss :)
We started our adventure at City Barrel, a brand new brewery in the Crossroads, and a date spot for Cissy & Johnny. From there we explored the Crossroads area before heading to the KCK side. We stopped at Splitlog Coffee Co. before making a quick jump back to the KCMO side for some gorgeous skyline sunset photos!
I just loved how Cissy & Johnny thought outside of the box for their engagement photos! I’ve never photographed portraits at City Barrel or on the KCK side before, so these were fun new challenges for me, and I just love the moments we captured and memories we created!
If you’ve worked with me, you’ll know that I often break into happy dances or sing on the spot while we’re shooting. This usually happens when we are experiencing the most perfect light! You can probably guess that I couldn’t stop dancing throughout Cissy & Johnny’s session. Our sunset that night was an absolute dream!
This blanket was made by one of Cissy & Johnny’s dear relatives! Cissy jokes that they’ve been making it since they were 17 (when Cissy & Johnny first met). I'm so glad they brought it along on their engagement session so we could capture some sweet memories with it.
Congratulations to Cissy & Johnny!
I’m so excited for your wedding in September!!
