Over Memorial Day weekend I had the privilege to travel to Alaska to photograph Jessica & Marshall's wedding! I'd never been to Alaska, so this was a real treat for me. It's hard to imagine a more beautiful backdrop for a wedding!
Jessica and I first met as roommates in college. Not long after college she entered the air traffic control academy. Upon graduation, she selected a post in Anchorage, Alaska. It is here that she met her husband Marshall! The two work together as air traffic controllers and were close friends before deciding to date.
What I love about Jessica & Marshall’s relationship is their shared priority to live life to the fullest. Both of them are extremely easygoing, genuinely nice people. They are avid adventurers, spending most of their weekends hiking, camping, skiing, and fishing on their boat. Alaska is the perfect playground for these newlyweds.
Jessica & Marshall held their wedding at the Crow Creek Gold Mine outside of Girdwood, Alaska. Founded in 1896 and family owned since 1969, this place is a literal treasure trove (pun intended) of natural beauty! It's also home to Alaska's oldest building. Their wedding ceremony took place in a picturesque cove tucked into the property’s forest. They were surrounded by their very closest friends and family. The reception featured some of Jessica & Marshall’s favorite lawn games, music, and delicious food from a local BBQ restaurant.
